# Booking settings

Control how staff create and edit bookings, and set up late fees, customer disputes and bond refunds.

## Manual bookings

- **Source name**: The label shown on bookings you create in the app.
- **Default manual status**: The starting status for new manual bookings.
- **Require customer name / email**: Manual bookings can't be saved without them.
- **Allow local-only booking without Shopify order**: When off, every manual booking must be linked to a Shopify order. We recommend keeping order linking required, so changes stay anchored in Shopify.

## Booking editing

**Allow date edits** shows a date editor inside each booking so rental dates can be changed.

## Late fees

- **Default late fee amount**: The starting late fee for bookings that don't have one yet.
- **Draft order title**: The line item name used on late fee draft orders.
- **Allow draft order creation**: Shows the button that creates a Shopify draft order for a late fee.

## Disputes & bond

- **Enable customer disputes**: Shows the **Customer Disputes** tab inside each booking. [Guide](https://thedressrentalapp.com/docs/disputes)
